Innsbruck, Austria: Foodies Rejoice!
To be perfectly honest, Austria was never very high on my bucket list—
but Innsbruck was included in my trip’s itinerary so I thought “OK… cool!” As it turns out, Innsbruck was one of the most magical cities I ever stepped foot in; the buildings were exquisite and the food was even better.
Friends and I ate lunch at Strudel Café Kroll— which I suggest you swing by if you’re ever strolling through Innsbruck. Strudel is one of the most popular foods in Austria and once you try it, you can’t get enough. I, of course, ordered two strudels: one for my main course and one for dessert. First, I ate a warm spinach and veggie strudel (yum!) with a colorful side salad. Then, I indulged in a chocolate raspberry strudel which was just heavenly. We ate outside at a cute little table and people-watched.
That is one of my fondest memories of Innsbruck.
While I was there in March, I was able to explore an adorable outdoor market. The market sprawled out across the old, cobblestone streets and immediately put butterflies in my stomach. There was so much to see walking around this busy, beautiful city located at the base of the Alps. I even got to explore the Swarovski Jewelry Store! Did you know Swarovski is an Austrian crystal company with its headquarters located just 20 minutes away from Innsbruck? Well, now you do.
Apparently, there is a Royal Palace and Olympic Ski Jump in Innsbruck as well, but I missed out on those attractions unfortunately (oops!). However, I still managed to have the time of my life in Innsbruck! Below are things I recommend you do if you ever get the opportunity to explore this inimitable city.
Things to Do in Innsbruck:
-See the old city’s most famous symbol, the Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl), and take a photo.
-Visit the Swarovski Kristallwelten Store.
-Stare at the gorgeous Alps (I mean, how could you not?).
-EAT STRUDEL. JUST DO IT.
-Eat more strudel.
I can’t recommend the Royal Palace or Olympic Ski Jump since I didn’t explore either myself (sigh) — but if YOU have gone, please leave a comment below to let me know how they were!

Don’t think I could name one place-contenders would be Portofino, the Amalfi coast, Maui & Florence. I would probably say Italy is my favorite country that I visited-so much art, history, fantastic food, friendly people & beautiful countryside. But I never went to Greece & that is probably going to be AWESOME!!
