Looking Ahead to 2018: Where Will You Travel?

Today is New Year’s Eve and I, like most of you I’m sure, have been reflecting on the tremendous year we’re about to say goodbye to: 2017.

20182017. It was the year of ingenious memes, terrible hurricanes and fires, and the most divisive presidential campaign in U.S. history. Malala Yousafzai went off to college and Prince Henry got engaged. Amazon is slowly but surely taking over the world. 2017 also leaves behind a few lingering questions: How much longer until Facebook suffers the same fate as MySpace? Will Apple be able to make up for their super slow iPhones and subpar battery life? WHEN WILL GAME OF THRONES RETURN?! (more…)

to a cityI’ve always lived near a big city…

Growing up, I was 15 minutes outside of Philadelphia. While I worked toward my Bachelor’s Degree, and even once I secured my first teaching position, I was 15 minutes outside of Baltimore. Having all of the comforts of suburbia and also the conveniences of a bustling city was what I was used to; it was all I knew. I loved being able to venture out to the city for some drinks or to tour a museum. I couldn’t imagine not having a nail salon or Wawa on every corner (now that I’ve been in Maryland, I’ve become more accepting of Royal Farms— but Wawa is better). (more…)

8 Things to Do (And Not Do) in Munich and Rhine Valley

Drink German beer from a stein in the famous Hofbrahaus? Check. Get kicked out of an Irish bar for beistreet munich rhine valleyng too noisy? Check. Sing on stage in front of hundreds of strangers in a foreign country? Check. Germany was quite an exciting place to be.

During my stay in Germany, I was able to explore both St. Goar in Rhine Valley and Munich. Both are truly spectacular in a myriad of different ways. They’re like night and day.

Innsbruck, Austria: Foodies Rejoice!

To be perfectly honest, Austria was never very high on my bucket list—
